Overview Lutron has an immediate need for the Visual Design Lead within the Communications Department out of our Conshohocken, PA office. In this role, you will support the creative development and technical execution of web-related marketing materials. You will co-lead the web design team to develop web-based marketing collateral for our internal customers, maintaining a visual appearance, usability, and brand continuity. To be successful, you must exhibit outstanding design judgment and work collaboratively with the project managers and creative teams in achieving the highest possible standards for all materials requiring design. As the Web Technical Lead, you will build working knowledge of clients' business challenges in order to develop and implement designs that address specific marketing objectives. For select assignments, you will also be expected to help develop creative strategies and conceptual development, drive design development and final deliverables.
Responsibilities Specific Technical Responsibilities Primary point of contact for the web design teamSupervises the technical ambitions of the Web Design team, bridging creative inspiration with the practical possibilities achievable within our existing CMSSteers the development helm, architecting robust digital solutions and ensuring the seamless functionality of complex web systemsPlan, organize, and lead Figma training sessions (for designers, devs, PMs) and while creating Figma resource guidesGeneral Web Design Responsibilities Contribute to the development and execution of design work in collaboration with creative leadership while seamlessly leading the efforts with the Web Ops team and developersDesign concepts, build prototypes, and test designs for functionality, while reviewing and maintaining consistency of the established design systems throughout the design processPrepare and review pages with Web Ops for handoff, QA, UAT and launchSupports cross functional business efforts to create web self-service processOversee and collaborate internally and externally with agency contributions to the design system and Figma component library.Communications Dept Responsibilities Execute the design of marketing assets as specified by creative/marketing briefs under the direction of creative leadership, account team, and clientsBrainstorm and strategize with creative team to help develop creative direction with a focus on the look and feel of the marketing materialsConvert rough ideas into visual prototypes (e.g., sketches, storyboards) to illustrate concepts for creative reviewsCollaborate with writing team to artfully build creative solutions that address project objectivesCollaborate with outside partners, including agencies, photographers, videographers, and illustratorsWork on project from initial development to final execution and production of creative assets, with great attention to detail, ensuring accuracyBe a steward of good design to ensure deliverables meet or exceed design objectivesEnsure brand guidelines and directives are embraced and adhered to in all executionsWorks to improve the team's overall performance and embraces a collaborative approachBe open to feedback and willing to integrate ideas from project managers and client requestors and interprets into execution within the parameters of the creative brief and brand standardsPartner with creative leadership, account team, and the business to achieve effective and efficient outcomesQualifications Minimum 8 years of experience in communication design (to include but not limited to graphic design, web design, interaction design, environmental design, etc.)Minimum of 5 years specializing in web/digital productsBachelor's degree in design or related fieldMinimum, cumulative GPA of 3.00Deep experience in visual design, web and interactive design and UXExceptional time management and organizational skillsPortfolio that shows technical and conceptual design applied across a range of digital deliverables – web, email, software, etc.Strong craft of visual style: strong layout, typography and visual design standardsMotion graphics / animation experience a plusDomestic and International travel a possibilityA passion for quality and craftLutron Electronics' position as the worldwide leader in innovative lighting control and shading solutions has enabled consistent, annual growth.
