Division & Department Profile
The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firms books and records, and by contributing to firm wide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators and serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team.
Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis (Corporate FP&A) department is responsible for providing Senior Management with strategic analysis of the Firms global businesses, the Firms annual budget, and various related financial information to be utilized in strategic decision-making. Corporate FP&A works closely with business segment FP&A and reporting teams, Corporate Treasury, and the Risk Department on various aspects of FP&A deliverables. This division is also responsible for reporting financial forecasts and related analyses to various stakeholders, including the Firms regulators.
What you'll do in the role
Product Management: Develop and execute a comprehensive technology product strategy to enhance the in-house built model execution and forecasting platform that aligns with the division's vision, objectives, and customer needs.
Project Planning and Execution: Monitor project progress, identify risk and issues, and implement mitigation strategies to keep project on track.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross- functional teams to support project alignment and synergy. Contribute ideas and insights to drive collaboration, innovation and knowledge sharing across initiatives.
Agile Leadership: Oversee the creation of features and user stories, refine backlogs, user acceptance testing and lead UX design sessions to ensure technical releases are aligned with user requirements and business goals.
Use Case Prioritization: Collaborate with various business unites to identify and prioritize their use cases. Conduct thorough analysis and evaluation to ensure alignment with the division's goals and objectives.
User Engagement and Adoption: Engage users across the firm to solicit their feedback, informing management of strategic enhancements. Develop and execute product releases and adoption strategies.
Production Support: Provide continuous product support during critical model execution cycles. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the performance, track-user adoption, and identify areas for improvement.
Required Skills:
Bachelor's or master's degree in finance, econometrics, data science, computer science, information technology or related field
At least 10+ years of relevant work experience in business analysis or systems analysis at a major management consulting firm or within the financial services industry
Strong analytic and problem solving / process improvement skills, ability to learn quickly, manage multiple demands, changing priorities and solve poorly defined problems.
Excellent verbal and written skills with an ability to create high quality written specifications that are comprehensive, accurate and tailored to the audience.
Outstanding ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization with excellent influencing and negotiation skills.
Overall experience in hands-on project management, specifically in information technology-related projects essential and supporting financial service businesses.
Solid understanding of the Project Lifecycle (PLC) and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) components.
Experience with technology-enabled forecasting and data visualization tolls a plus (e.g., IBM Planning & Analytics, Essbase, Hyperion, Power BI, Tableau)
Experience working in an agile team using agile tools such as Rally
Experience in programming languages: SQL, Java, & Python
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
