Role Summary:

This deputy GC role is responsible for legal support to CPC's mortgage lending business and other mission related activities, including support in matters of loan closings, servicing, asset management, vendor contracts, master funding agreements, regulatory compliance, corporate governance and other matters handled by the Legal Department.


What You'll do: Provide useful, accurate and timely legal advice and support for General Counsel, Closings Department, Servicing Department, Asset Management Department, Finance Department, and Originations Department (including all Field Offices).
Provide legal advice and support for General Counsel with respect to equity investments, including advice on joint venture documents.
Assure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and contracts in all aspects of CPC's mortgage lending business, operations, servicing, equity investing, and other mission related activities.
Implement CPC's mortgage lending business objectives by drafting, negotiating and maintaining agreements, policies, forms, legal correspondence andcoordinating or directly closing loan sales and loan participation sales.
Support the General Counsel and head of closings team with respect to loan closings, including advice on closing documents and procedures.
Implement CPC's servicing business objectives by drafting, negotiating and maintaining agreements, policies, legal correspondence; and coordinating GSE securitizations.
Assist General Counsel with new program initiatives, including federal grants, portfolio acquisitions, and transactions related to diversification of capital strategies.
Assist General Counsel with corporate and non-profit tax matters, including the formation of subsidiaries and joint venture transactions.
Where needed support the general counsel or handle independently the negotiation and closing of all master funding agreements with private and/or public funding sources including repurchase agreements and bond offerings.
Provide legal support to the General Counsel on corporate governance matters.
Provide excellent customer service to all stakeholders by responding promptly and accurately to questions and information requests.
Skills and Experience Admission and good standing as an attorney in the State of New York; Minimum of 15 years practicing real estate, non-profit, and/or corporate law, with litigation experience a plus; Strong attention to detail with an ability to multi-task and respond well to pressure and competing deadlines; Proficient in power point.
Strong communication skills both written and verbal.

This is a full-time, hybrid role where you will work from the Manhattan office two - three days a week.
The salary range is $230,000 - $260,000, dependent on experience.
