Job Description Summary:
This role involves managing participant data, tracking progress, and ensuring compliance with funder requirements. Key responsibilities include conducting needs assessments, setting goals with participants, and developing individualized action plans. The Program Coordinator will also be responsible for data collection, reporting, and program evaluation. Additionally, they will provide support with employment preparation, career planning, and workshop facilitation.
Knowledge/Abilities
Knowledge of and sensitivity to the unique needs of the target population - justice-involved, unemployed, and underemployed clients. Knowledge of quality control best practices, human services, referral management, and workflow dynamics. Must be an effective communicator, critical thinker, and problem solver. Documented skill in areas of analyzing information, decision making, research skills, verbal communication, written communication, resolving conflict, workflow implementation, human relations, time management, and integrity. Ability to motivate others toward achieving goals. Responsibilities: Review Needs Assessment:Gather Data: Compile all relevant data from the WORK AND SKILLS PROGRESSION assessment. This may include participant skills, experiences, work history, and career aspirations. Analyze Assessment Results: Evaluate the assessment results to identify common themes, strengths, and areas for improvement among participants. Identify Gaps: Recognize gaps in skills or resources that need to be addressed to facilitate participant progress.Guide Participants in Setting Goals:Individual Meetings: Schedule one-on-one meetings with participants to discuss their assessment results in detail.Facilitate Goal Setting: Assist participants in identifying realistic and achievable short-term and long-term goals related to their employment, training, or housing needs. SMART Goals Framework: Encourage participants to format their goals using the SMART criteria (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) to increase clarity and accountability. Create Action Plans: Help participants develop actionable steps to reach their goals, including timelines and available resources.Establish a Reporting Schedule:Create a Reporting Calendar: Develop a calendar that outlines important reporting deadlines and milestones based on funder requirements and internal assessment schedules. Gather Metrics: Regularly collect participation metrics such as attendance, engagement levels, and outcomes related to participant goals. Compile Reports: Schedule time to compile comprehensive reports that detail program effectiveness, participant progress, and success stories. Distribute Reports: Share reports with relevant stakeholders, including funders, program staff, and community partners to keep them informed of program successes and areas for improvement.Participants Follow-Up:Create a follow-up schedule to periodically check in with participants to monitor progress.. Offer additional support and resources as needed, ensuring they feel connected and informed about available options. Solicit feedback on their experiences to improve service delivery.Employment Preparation:Assess participants' skills and career interests through one-on-one assessments.. Develop individualized employment preparation plans that include necessary tools and resources. Provide ongoing support to help them refine their job search strategies.Job Placement:Job search assistance: Continuously provide job search resources, including job boards, online job portals, and industry-specific websites. Job referrals: Connect participants with relevant job opportunities based on their skills and experience. Interview preparation: Offer additional support and guidance as needed, including mock interviews and resume review. Post-placement support: Provide ongoing support to ensure job retention and career advancement, such as assistance with workplace challenges or professional development opportunities.Organize Workshops:Plan and schedule workshops focused on job readiness, soft skills, and industry-specific training. Promote these workshops to participants using various communication channels.Gather participant feedback after each workshop to continuously improve content and delivery. Assist with Career Planning: Foster personal career plans for clients that align with their goals and current job market trends.Help participants set achievable employment goals and break them down into manageable steps.Provide resources, such as resume writing assistance and interview preparation tips.Requirements: Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, vocational rehabilitation, or related field preferred. Other education and work experience may e considered. At least 3 years of experience in supported employment or vocational rehabilitation. Strong leadership and team management skills. Knowledge of local labor markets and job development strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards in the field of supported employment.Benefits:
