What we're seeking:
This position acts as a team lead for one or more groups in the operation of construction, maintenance, removal, and repair of pole lines, aerial/building/buried/submarine cable (copper and fiber optic), reconnection work, and make-ready work on a 24-hour basis. In this in-person role, you will be required to report to our Norwalk, CT location to complete your work responsibilities.

What you'll do:
This position acts as a team lead for one or more groups in the operation of construction, maintenance, removal, and repair of: pole lines, aerial/building/buried/submarine cable (copper and fiber optic), reconnection work, and make-ready work on a 24-hour basis.
Assists employees in the actual hands-on work operations.
Position will require scheduled duty shifts to manage the out-of-hours response to emergency restorations.
Works closely with other utilities in the restoration of network facilities: Poles, cables, cabinets, etc.
Responsible for administration and personnel functions associated with the above activities.
This position leads teams of 1-5 technical personnel and is responsible for maintaining commitments for work order due dates.
This position includes technical direction, ensuring safe practices under hazardous conditions, and 24-hour accountability for emergency service requirements or catastrophic facility failures.
Reviews work orders and schedules order of jobs to meet due dates.
Determines which personnel to assign to specific jobs and what tools, vehicles, and materials are needed.
Conducts safety hazard checks.
Directs work operations.
Assigns personnel to a job based on ability and training.
Observes performance and provides on-the-job training for both new and experienced employees.
Supervises and directs contract help.
Identifies the location of all utilities.
Surveys work location to identify safety requirements and directs setting up of safety devices.
Determines power voltage and interfaces with property owners regarding Right of Way issues, location of buried cables, building access, and other aspects of the work being performed.
Makes minor repairs to equipment to prevent delays.
Authorizes overtime to complete work and inspects work site.
Assumes duties and responsibilities of line construction supervisor, as required.
Prepares daily reports and summaries relative to time and materials used and recovered.
Prepares input for mechanized systems.
Conducts tool and material inventory audits.
Conducts safety meetings on a rotational basis and prepares damage and personal injury reports.

Salary Range: $51,000 to $106,000
