Job Summary :
Genesis Global Group (GGG) is looking to expand its presence throughout the U.S. We are seeking a high-energy, self-motivated individual to join our team in Hamilton, NJ. The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation, the support of budget and forecast activities and managing staff. The Accounting Manager will have contact with senior-level Directors and the CFO, which requires strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
Responsibilities: Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure. Supervise the finance group to ensure all reporting deadlines are met. Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close. Assists in the year-end close with auditors for the manufacturing, distribution and construction companies. Act as liaison between Human Resources and Accounting staff. Ensure the accurate and timely processing of positive pay transactions. Ensure the monthly and quarterly Bank Compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner. Supports budget and forecasting activities. Serves as the bank administrator (sets up security controls for other staff members). Oversees the accounting function of the construction company (cash flow, billables, payables, budgets, etc.). Pays monthly and quarterly sales and use taxes for the hospitality and corporate companies. Liaises with state tax departments as needed. Responds to inquiries from the CFO. Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions. Assists the CFO with the interview and selection process for new hires. Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department. Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff. Trains employees in MAS and Nav accounting systems. Works with technical support to ensure systems are running smoothly. Job Qualifications : General Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA's) required BA/BS in business with an emphasis in accounting 3-5 years' experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area. CPA license is required Understanding of cost accounting and various state sales tax reporting. Must be pc proficient and able to thrive in a fast -pace setting. Experience with mas200 and other large automated accounting system a plus. Must have strong experience with Microsoft excel and word. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
