Description Position Overview: Note: Adjunct positions at UCO are part-time teaching positions. This posting is to create a pool of interested applicants from which the Department may draw as sections become open at any point in the current academic year. This posting may or may not result in the hiring of adjuncts. Adjunct Faculty - provides a quality learning experience for students on a semester basis. Adjunct faculty reports to a dean or chair and performs instruction-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies and procedures of the college. The relationship of the adjunct faculty member to the student is one of teacher and facilitator of learning.
College/Department Overview: The College of Education and Professional Studies currently has 100 full-time and over 100 part-time faculty organized in seven departments. The college offers 23 undergraduate majors and 28 graduate majors. All teacher education programs are CAEP accredited. Other programs are recognized at the state and national levels with accreditations by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), the American Dietetic Association (ADA), the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA), the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR), and the Oklahoma Educational Quality and Accountability Commission (OEQA). Department Specific Essential Job Functions: The adjunct instructor will prepare and teach assigned classes in the Fashion Marketing program following the department syllabus. The instructor will teach all class sessions, maintain appropriate records, assign earned grades, report needed data to the department, and complete all necessary department assessment information.
Experience Required: Possesses at least a master's degree in Fashion Marketing or a related field. Possesses excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the industry and experience teaching in higher-ed. Possesses excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
