RESPONSIBILITIESThe responsibilities of the Category Manager include, but are not limited to:
Category Strategy DevelopmentDevelop and implement comprehensive category plans that will include pricing, promotions, assortment, and placement strategies to achieve goals.Conduct market research to identify new trends, competitive pricing, and customer preference.Direct the organization's merchandise strategies and plans.Supplier & Vendor ManagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with the suppliers and negotiate terms, including pricing, contracts, and promotions.Monitor supplier performance and ensure timely delivery of products.Assortment & Inventory ManagementDetermine product mix within the category, ensuring that customer needs are met while maximizing profitability.Manage inventory levels, ensuring stock availability while minimizing excess inventory.Sales & Profitability AnalysisAnalyze sales data and category performance metrics, such as sales growth, margin performance, and market share.Identify upcoming products and recommend actions as promotions or adjustments to pricing.Collaboration & CoordinationWork closely with marketing, sales, operations, and finance teams.Coordinate promotional activities and ensure product placement strategies are executed effectively across the company. BENEFITSCompetitive pay.Competitive medical, dental, vision, and prescription insurance coverage.Bonus.Earn PTO hours immediately.Paid holidays.Opportunities for development.401K with a company match.QUALIFICATIONSRequired Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.Minimum of 3 years experience in category management, purchasing, or a similar role.Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency with computers and different software programs.Strong organizational and multitasking skills.Preferred HVAC industry, distribution, and logistics experience.Master's degree in Business, Marketing.Strong knowledge of Eclipse (CRM).
