Description:Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (LMMFC) Chelmsford, MA is seeking a motivated and driven Quality Professional to support our manufacturing operations.
As a recognized designer, developer and manufacturer of precision engagement aerospace and defense systems for the U.S. and allied militaries, LMMFC offers the vital capabilities needed to provide our war fighting and civilian customers the products and services they need in their defining moments.
Quality Professionals at LMMFC act as an integrated member of the design and production teams developing and reviewing quality standards, methods, work Instructions and procedures for the inspection of manufactured and procured products.
To ensure our customer receives the highest level of Quality, our Quality Engineers develop, review/approve documentation related to internal and external manufacturing processes to ensure requirements are fulfilled.
Job Description duties include:
As the CMM Programmer, you will be responsible for all aspects of the measurement system, including fixtures, use of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), probe selection, and data output.
You'll apply knowledge of measurement science, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), quality, mathematics, engineering and manufacturing to define measurement techniques to provide reliable inspection data.
Additional duties may include:
Interpret object blueprints and utilize pre-programmed CMMs to take accurate measurements.
Perform all dimensional layouts using coordinate measuring equipment and prepare layout reports.
Develop in-process and final dimensional inspection on components using CMM and conventional inspection methods and analyzes features to GD&T requirements.
Read and interpret GD&T data and comply with internal quality system, business policies and regulatory requirements.
Prepare detailed inspection documentation such as written descriptions of inspection results including deviations from engineering specifications.
Work with engineers to establish qualification and validation of new and/or changed tooling or parts, to understand how the data is applied within the manufacturing process and to develop practical data structures and GD&T.
Work with Quality to provide data to support control plans and SPC.

The Locale: Chelmsford is a charming suburb of Boston located about 25 miles northwest of the city.
Chelmsford is very close to historic Lowell Massachusetts and to Nashua, New Hampshire.
Chelmsford is within reach of New Hampshire's White Mountains and awesome ski areas to the north, and the scenic coastal towns of MA and NH are about an hour east.
This scenic colonial region offers lots of New England charm, great schools, shopping, and restaurants.
Chelmsford and the region share an impressive past from the early days after the pilgrims arrived in Plymouth to the revolutionary war.
Where can you get to from Chelmsford?
Chelmsford is about 90 minutes from Cape Cod.
Boston is about 30 minutes to the east without traffic.
New York City is about 4.5 hours away from Chelmsford.
Waterville Valley and other major ski resorts of New Hampshire and Vermont are about 2 to 3 hours to the north.
It should be noted that Chelmsford, Massachusetts is approximately 35 miles northwest of the Boston metropolitan area and offers better access to a wide range of substantially more affordable regions in the area to live.
Those regions include Northeastern and North Central Massachusetts, and Southern, New Hampshire.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
• Minimum 2 years CMM Programming and Operating experience required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of Geometric and Dimensional Tolerancing
• Ability to assist with designing/developing quality gauging to improve efficiencies
• Understands and adheres to ISO 9001
• Able to read and understand all drawing criteria, GD&T, notes and tolerances
• Ability to obtain a secret security clearance and must be able to obtain at least an interim secret prior to start.
Desired Skills:
• Experience working with Zeiss
• Experience programming CMM machines specifically in Calypso and Starrett products
• Experience setting up lot inspection methods
• Ability to review and optimize existing CMM programs
• Stand up new machinery
• Perform cost-benefit analysis

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees.
Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.
These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
