The CNC Lathe Programmer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs for lathe machines to produce precision components for aerospace, defense, and medical applications.
This role requires expertise in Master Cam software and a deep understanding of machining processes, materials, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities Program Development: Create and optimize CNC programs using Master Cam software to produce complex components for aerospace, defense, and medical applications.
Technical Drawings: Interpret and analyze technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to determine machining operations and sequences.
Tool Selection: Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials for each job, considering machine capabilities and part specifications.
Setup and Testing: Set up CNC lathe machines, perform test runs, and make necessary adjustments to ensure parts meet quality and tolerance standards.
Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, machinists, and quality control teams to resolve issues and improve machining processes.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of CNC programs, machine setups, and modifications.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest advancements in CNC programming and machining technologies to enhance production efficiency and quality.
Compliance: Ensure all machining operations comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise Education: High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate's degree in CNC programming, machine tool technology, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in CNC lathe programming, preferably in the aerospace, defense, or medical industries.
Software Proficiency: Proficient in Master Cam software and other CAD/CAM tools.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of machining processes, materials, and quality control standards.
Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and optimize machining operations.
Communication: Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
