COLLECTION SERVICES MANAGER University of Georgia, School of Law, Alexander Campbell King Law Library POSITION SUMMARY: The Collection Services Manager is responsible to the Associate Director for Collection Services for planning, implementation, management, promotion, and assessment of collection services.

Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates one full-time library staff member and the unit student assistants. Directs the overall functions of the collection services unit, including receiving, ordering, cataloging, processing, shelving, collection maintenance, gift materials management. Develop, assess, recommend, implement, monitor compliance, and administer policies, procedures, and processes in library collection services. Compile data and prepare reports analyzing work performed and the use and maintenance of the library collection. Perform complex cataloging of library materials which requires detailed knowledge of national cataloging standards and practices as well as processing library materials. Assure discovery of library resources by maintaining accurate records and metadata in the integrated library system. Manage the physical library collection including establishing standards and priorities for organizing, updating, assessing, retrieving, removing, and preserving items in the collection. Serve as a resource to explain collection services policies and procedures as well as the organization, processing, and maintenance of library materials to Law Library users, staff, and librarians, as well as for other units in the School of Law or with University Libraries as needed ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES, SKILLS, and PHYSICAL DEMANDS can be found in the position posting: https://www.ugajobsearch.com/postings/403489 CLASSIFICATION TITLE: Library Technical Paraprofessional/Professional (Non-Exempt)

ADVERTISED SALARY: $45,000 – $55,000 (Commensurate with Experience)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degreeANDthree years related progressively responsible library experience which includes one year of supervisory or management experience; OR seven years progressively responsible library, archives, information center or related work experience which includes one year of supervisory or management experience; OR any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
