Automation and Controls EngineerOverview:Industrial Machinery company located in the Merrimack Valley is actively seeking a skilled Automation and Controls Engineer with a proven track record in control system design and implementation.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing standard engineering practices, creating detailed technical documentation, and leading technical projects.
This role will also involve aspects of project management.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar engineering role is required, with experience in vacuum furnace systems, semiconductors, chemical processing, or water/wastewater industries considered a plus.Responsibilities: Program automation and controls systems using PLCs for high-temperature material processing systems.
Develop and work with PLC ladder logic and operator interfaces, with experience in any of the following systems preferred: Allen Bradley, Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi.
Interpret and create logic and flow diagrams to design, program, simulate, test, and implement system controls.
Engage in hands-on design, mechanical assembly, testing, troubleshooting, installation, startup, and field service for material processing systems.
Assist in process design, technical documentation, customer troubleshooting, and managing project timelines and deliverables.
Travel 10-20% to client sites to oversee installation and provide field support.Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering.Preferred Skills and Experience: Expertise in testing, troubleshooting, installation, and start-up of high-temperature vacuum furnace systems and material processing systems.
Knowledge of Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs), Process Control Diagrams, and PLC programming.
Experience with instrumentation and process control design, installation, testing, and troubleshooting.
Hands-on experience with Chemical Vapor Deposition, sintering, heat treating, and ceramics processing in controlled atmospheres.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Office, and industrial networks.
Experience managing capital equipment construction projects.Additional Qualifications: Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
