PURPOSE STATEMENT:
Direct the facility admissions activities by driving the admissions process, developing, implementing and maintaining revenue-generating strategies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provide staff management including hiring, development, training, performance management and communication to ensure effective and efficient department operation.
Define staff objectives in terms of call management expectations to increase conversion rates.
Provide staff education to decrease denials/diversions.
Provide weekly and monthly KPI and census reports to CEO and other internal stakeholders.
Manage the department within fiscal guidelines, including FTE management to maximize productivity.
Maintain current knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements and communicate to staff to ensure their understanding of and adherence to these requirements.
Ensure the required financial processes related to admissions are completed.
Integrate department functions with other departments in the facility, as applicable, for efficient and effective operations.
Oversee staff documentation to ensure it meets hospital policy, regulatory standards, and MCO level of care guidelines.
Target collaborations with Business Development in order to build strong referral source relationships.
Responsible for assisting with statistical data collection regarding referrals and admissions for projections and the identification of trends and/or opportunities for improvement.
Able to develop and implement policies and procedures.
Maintain knowledge of milieu management.
Knowledge of applicable State and federal regulations and CARF standards.
Provide leadership in addressing quality management issues related to crisis triage, evaluation, intake and admission to the facility.
Determine and implement admissions best-practices, promote the hospital and maintain a satisfied patient base.
Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Four or more years' healthcare admissions experience required.
HS Diploma required, college degree in related field preferred.
Two or more years' management experience.
Three or more years' experience in an Admissions Director position in a substance abuse or mental health treatment facility preferred.
LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:
CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
