Domtar is looking for a Reliability Engineer to support the needs of the business in the maintenance and/or reliability function. This support includes, but is not limited to the following:
Identify & implement improvements in process & equipment reliability across the Mill by working closely with operations & maintenance personnel.Provide maintenance engineering and technical assistance.Coordinate & supervise both Mill & contract personnel during normal & outage conditions.Serve as the main interface for Reliability improvement by reviewing equipment history & performing failure cause analysis.Review existing preventive maintenance processes for value to the maintenance effort & propose changes as necessary to improve the reliability of the assets.Position Requirements: Personal dedication to working safely.BS in Engineering/Engineering Technology.Strong knowledge of equipment/process systems & equipment selection.Strong equipment & system troubleshooting aptitude.Good written & oral communication skills needed to effectively communicate technical activities across all levels of the organization.Role requires frequent walking, climbing ladders & stairs, crawling into confined spaces, measuring/lifting/carrying objects of varying weights, exposure to dust, heat, dirt, grease, chemicals, noise as well as various weather conditions & industrial environments. Use of PPE & respiratory protection is required.Desired Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing, specifically in reliability.Experience in leading & promoting a safe work environment.Experienced with Plant Maintenance management processes.Understanding of reliability methods & practices to improve asset reliability.Ability to work with a diverse group of people to resolve issues.Domtar is an EEO/AA employer.
