Amazon is seeking a Finance Analyst to help lead and oversee critical functions for Amazon Sort Centers – our rapidly expanding middle mile package operation, purpose-built to achieve and exceed the delivery quality and speed demands of Amazon customers.

A Financial Analyst will be the finance leader for disruptive new transportation initiatives, with a focus on business partnering, strategic decision support, financial controllership, and cost reduction. This person will partner with multiple stakeholders to provide timely analysis, insightful guidance, and financial leadership to this high-growth organization. This role requires extensive cross-functional partnership with various transportation and finance teams to identify best practices across the network and lead cost improvement efforts.
The leader will also lead annual planning, variance analysis for monthly/quarterly business reviews, and ad-hoc projects and analysis as needed.
Key Responsibilities
The role has primary responsibility to ensure we deliver a great customer experience at competitive and sustainable transportation costs and requires partnering with many internal teams (Transportation, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Accounting, Accounts Payable, Engineering, Real Estate, and IT) to drive performance and simultaneously build a world-class Operations Finance team. Key Responsibilities include:
Partner with your team and develop all weekly and monthly financial close activities, all planning, forecasting, and reporting models while overseeing their continuous innovation and communication to both your operations & other business partners.Proven ability to develop strategic relationships with your business partners – you influence the decisions. You can root cause issues quickly and uncover core issues using data, then assist, consult with, and teach the business how decisions affect costs in their sites and create new mechanisms as they are needed.Identify and develop key business opportunities and drive efficiency while balancing customer promise.Expertise in collecting, analyzing, and managing quantitative data and creating meaningful analyses to lead business improvement and cost reductions.Partner with teams to drive cost out and optimal cross-functional decisions that maximize Amazon's long-term free cash flow. - 2+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience
- 2+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- Knowledge of standard software including Excel, Access, Oracle, Essbase, SQL and VBA skills
- Experience using data to influence business decisions
- Experience in corporate finance including budgeting/planning, forecasting, and reporting
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- 2+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- Experience in TM1, Data Warehouse, and SQL
