Financial Controller

The Senior Controller will oversee all accounting and financial reporting activities within the organization. This position is fully on-site and requires a strong background in accounting with prior public accounting experience. The ideal candidate will have an accounting degree and be adept at managing financial systems, ensuring compliance, and leading a team of accounting professionals.

ResponsibilitiesOversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition.Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.Research technical accounting issues for compliance.Support month-end and year-end close process.Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.Reconcile the monthly bank and credit card statements.Coordinate month-end and year-end closings.Preparation and distribution of timely financial statements.SupervisionSupervise accounting employees, including workload and related duties.Required SkillsMust have a minimum of 6-8 years full-cycle accounting experience.Prefer candidates to have been in an Accounting Manager or prior Controller role.Experience with QuickBooks software is preferred.Must have an understanding of GAAP and tax rules.Must have the ability to train and supervise accounting staff.CPA is a bonus.
