General Summary of PositionJob Summary:    MedStar Health is looking for a First Class Engineer to join our team at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center! As a First Class Engineer, you will perform stationary engineer work in the hospital power plant, involving various routine and complex problems. Apply today and learn how MedStar Health can be your next great career move!      Primary Duties:   Operates, maintains, and performs preventative maintenance on technical equipment. Operates boilers, water chillers, pumps, air compressors and generators to provide steam, electrical power, heat, and chilled water throughout the hospital. Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on water /steam distribution systems and other boiler associated systems. Interprets technical information related to equipment operation and maintenance and maintains constant watch over dials, meters, and gauges to assure proper operation and to detect malfunctioning equipment. Records data in appropriate logs and operates boiler room EMS systems and makes quality improvement or cost containment recommendations and sees through approval and implementation stages. Runs test on boiler and cooling tower water and adjusts treatment dosage as needed. f. Maintains proper operation of pneumatic tube system. Works effectively within and between departments. Participates in departmental projects and consistently displays professionalism in dealings with customers, staff, and physicians.  Qualifications:   High School Diploma or GED. Equivalent work experience in lieu of education may be considered. 2-3 years' experience as a first-class engineer. Maryland First Class Stationary Engineer License. Knowledge of regulatory requirements including all State, Federal and JCAHO regulations. Previous experience in a hospital setting preferred.   

This position has a hiring range of $33.86 -
$59.84
