This is a full-time entry-level position in our Americas Pricing & Analytics actuarial group. P&A offers exam support and cross-unit rotational opportunities to support your early career development.
The anticipated start date would be in May or June of 2025 to accommodate typical US university graduation dates as well as our actuarial early career summer development webinars.
Essential Responsibilities: Support the regular monitoring of rate change and profitability metrics, including initiatives to query outliers and improve data quality and coverage, as well as performing audits on metrics to ensure compliance with Pricing Model Standards.Utilize pricing tools and actuarial acumen to produce account-specific pricing guidance accurately, timely, and completely, with reasonable independence. Review available information for model input quality control. Collaborate with other actuaries when forming pricing guidance and effectively communicate selections to underwriters.Support development, testing, calibration, and maintenance of pricing models, dashboards, and segmentation analyses alongside various actuaries and teams.Portfolio management activities including selection of base loss ratio for business planning, profitability studies, trend studies, and post-event loss evaluation.Ad hoc projects to improve the quality of data used in pricing analytics.Provide actuarial support for regulatory needs as needed.Provide training and education to Underwriters for the understanding and proper usage of pricing models and methodologies.You will report to an actuary in the Pricing & Analytics unit.
Required Skills and Abilities: Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Applied Math, Statistics, or related field.Completion of one or more actuarial exams with intent to qualify in the Casualty Actuarial Society.Experience solving problems in Excel, R, Python, SQL, or another analytical application.Legal authorization to work in the country in which the position is posted.Desired Skills and Abilities: Motivated, organized, strategic thinker with an outstanding collaborative work ethic.Coding, analytics, and/or dashboard building skills in R or R-Shiny.Outstanding analytical, mathematical, and research abilities.Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and integrity.Adaptable to new challenges and proactive for innovative problem solving.Ability to effectively articulate complex information in a clear, concise, and insightful way.FIND your future AXA XL, the P&C and specialty risk division of AXA, is known for solving complex risks. The U.S. pay range for this position is $56,600 – $89,300. Actual pay will be determined based upon the individual's skills, experience, and location.
