The Interim Production Manager works closely with the Villanova Theatre Department's (VTD) Artistic Director and by extension VTD Chair and directly oversees: VTD theatre production department; author, direct and execute VTD's operational and strategic plan re: theatrical presentations, production related student learning objectives, artistic and pedagogical vision for productions and studio work; maintain cross organizational/ cross functional relationships to accomplish production goals; project manage all VTD production aspects for four (4) mainstage VTD productions, one (1) Student Studio show, one (1) New Works staged reading, also project manages Student Theatre productions throughout the year; responsible for internal and external management of the VTD production staff (i.e., VTD resident staff, production designers, directors, run crews, consultants, student work-study, etc.
).
The individual in this position ensures efficient and professional operations of VTD productions; calendar and maintain (e.g., deadline adherence) production dates; budget, and administer production budgets; coordinate production communications and logistics with the Mullen Center administration; coordinate theatre booking requests for VTD/ VST/ and VSMT, negotiate all creative personnel and other over-hire contracts.
Maintain ongoing affiliations with area professional and academic theatres.

* Member of VTD Production Committee
* Attend Callbacks, Openings, and other departmental functions (as required)
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Directly oversee VTD theatre production department; author, direct, and execute VTD's operational and strategic production plan, particularly the production calendar, implement VTD's artistic and pedagogical vision and direction for productions and studio work.
* Ensure efficient, professional, and safe operations of VTD productions; calendar/maintain production dates; budget, forecast, and administer production budgets.
* Supervise directly Costume Shop Manager, Technical Director, Production Designers, Production Creative Artists, Props Coordinator, Stage Management Consultant, Production Technicians, and Assistant Production Manager.
* Supervise indirectly Directors, Assistant Technical Director, Scenic Charge, Cutter/Draper, Production Build Staff, Production Run Personnel, Music Directors, and Musicians.
* Negotiate over-hire contracts; facilitate production design meetings and deadline adherence, coordinate VTD booking requests for the Mullen Center spaces; attend callbacks; assist with casting challenges; resolve director, cast, and running crew challenges/conflicts, orient all cast/production personnel at first rehearsals.
* Supervise tech week, previews, and openings.
* Author/Assist in the writing and revising of theatre documents (e.g., VTD Production Best Practices documents, designer/over-hire contracts, VTD Student Handbook, Director guidelines, scholar and assistant contracts).
Minimum Qualifications:
* B.A.
required.
* Theatrical production practices and procedures including relevant software and technical knowledge.
* Five (5) years professional theatre production experience.
* Must be an excellent communicator within an academic environment with an ability to instruct and supervise creative personnel, undergrad/graduate students, and production staff members.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Academic theatre experience preferred.
* M.F.A., M.B.A.
/M.P.A., or M.A.
in Theatre preferred.
* M/S Office Suite, G Suite, Mac O/S Vectorworks, Q-lab, Dropbox/One Drive, Standard Theatrical Scenery, Costume, Light, and Sound Equipment Practices.
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours:
Technical Rehearsals will fall outside of the typical 9-5 workday and will take place over weekends.
