Position Summary
Our team is seeking a mechanical engineer to strengthen our multi-disciplinary team working on projects related to large marine systems.
Innovation and technical problem solving will be a major part of your position along with the ability to work productively with a diverse team of engineers and business co-workers.
Responsibilities: Create detailed designs for mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements Participate in the creation of prototypes and conduct tests to validate design assumptions and ensure functionality Evaluate and select appropriate fluid power component (valves, actuators, controllers, etc.)
to meet system requirements Prepare detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports and system schematics and diagrams Identify and resolve engineering issues that arise during the design, fabrication, and testing of prototype systems Participate during the entire design phase and collaborate actively with the engineering team to find the best solutions To develop calculation tools & systems To advise designers in technical matters Interface with clients and internal team for general project management duties Required Qualifications: Master's or Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent, or relevant experience 2+ years of experience of mechanical design in SolidWorks 5-10 years of relevant hydraulic or pneumatic system design experience Excellent organizational skills, ability to maintain confidentiality Desired Qualifications: Knowledge of industrial controllers (PLCs, ECUs, remote IO, ect.)
Experience programming industrial controllers and user interfaces Knowledge of marine systems Experience coordinating fabrication efforts with external vendors Able to understand and work with offshore standards (DNV, ABS, CCS, BV etc) Good communication and presentation skills Experience assembling and testing of large prototype systems Location:
Greater Boston, Massachusetts based, with hybrid/in-person flexibility
