Position Summary

Our team is seeking a mechanical engineer to strengthen our multi-disciplinary team working on projects related to large marine systems.
Innovation and technical problem solving will be a major part of your position along with the ability to work productively with a diverse team of engineers and business co-workers.


Responsibilities: Create detailed designs for large systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements Participate in the creation of prototypes and conduct tests to validate design assumptions and ensure structural integrity Perform structural analysis and simulations to predict the behavior and performance of large structures and weldments under various conditions Evaluate and select appropriate materials for the construction of large components based on strength, durability, and cost considerations.
Prepare detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports and analysis reports Identify and resolve engineering issues that arise during the design, fabrication, and testing of large prototype systems Participate during the entire design phase and collaborate actively with the engineering team to find the best solutions To develop calculation tools & systems To advise designers in technical matters Ability to develop free body diagrams of problems Interface with clients and internal team for general project management duties Required Qualifications: Master's or Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent, or relevant experience 2+ years of experience of mechanical design in SolidWorks 1-7 years of relevant steel structure strength analysis Experience in FEA results analysis and interpretation Excellent organizational skills, ability to maintain confidentiality Desired Qualifications: Knowledge of metallic materials and weldments Knowledge of marine systems Experience with fabrication and construction methods of large steel structures Experience coordinating fabrication efforts with external vendors Able to understand and work with offshore standards (DNV, ABS, CCS, BV etc) Good communication and presentation skills Experience assembling and testing of large prototype systems Knowledge of Ansys is highly desired Location:

Greater Boston, Massachusetts based, with hybrid/in-person flexibility
