The role is responsible for overseeing a Policy Servicing team. This team handles centralized processes that support Business Units across North America, including policy renewal preparation, preparation of required policy notices and filings, policy issuance, new system conversion, and various other underwriting and operational support activities. Location: This position will be based out of our Charlotte, NC office.
What you'll be doing: Manage, coach, and assist a team of Operations AnalystsTrack, monitor and balance team workloadSupport team and ensure adherence to best practicesDrive continuous improvement and service deliveryCreate common, standard processes and implement controls to improve efficiencies and support strategic goalsProvide technical and administrative support to underwriting units including, but not limited to, new business set up, renewal policy preparation, and various policy noticesCommunicate with underwriting assistants/technicians, underwriters, managers, VPs and brokers in a clear and concise mannerPerform quality control analysis of select tasks completed by other operations personnelCompile data utilizing various sources and tools; investigate data quality issuesQuantitatively and qualitatively analyze performance and complete management reportingCoordinate team involvement in user acceptance testing of system and new functionalitiesHire and train new team membersWhat you'll bring: 7+ years of experience as an Insurance Operations Professional (P&C insurance)Supervisory experience and LEAN management skills preferredExperience transforming and implementing Operational processesStrong problem solving and decision-making abilities; process improvement skillsStrong written and oral communication skillsComputer skills including Microsoft office, Excel, VisioGuidewire, Cognos and/or AS 400 skills a plusExcellent time management and ability to work and prioritize tasks independentlyAt Sompo, we recognize that the talent, skills, and commitment of our employees drive our success.
