Physician Assistant - Structural Heart Program Cardiology

General Summary The Structural Heart Program within the Department of Cardiology at Boston Children's Hospital is seeking an experienced physician assistant to join our team as a primary point of contact across the continuum of care for patients, families, and their care team to facilitate referral management, triage coordination, provide patient education, pre, and post-procedural follow-up for our patients undergoing procedures within the Structural Heart Program.
There is potential for participation in interventional procedures for qualified and interested candidates.
We are looking for an individual to excel at facilitating multidisciplinary clinical collaboration and communication to develop treatment plans and optimize patient outcomes.This Structural Heart Program Physician Assistant will be responsible for and experience: • Facilitates collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team and consulting services to provide comprehensive care for optimal patient outcomes.• Collaborates with the Cath Lab Attending physician and surgeon to plan and conduct patient assessment, medical history, physical exams, and diagnose health problems.• Sees patients in clinic and via telehealth independently and/or with interventionalist; facilitates complete diagnostic assessment and provide verbal and written education.• Potential for interventional procedural involvement and assistance, if qualified.• Active participation in Structural Heart Program meetings including presentation of clinical information, plan development, communication, and continued management and modification of care plan.• Participation in program development and evaluation, ongoing research, and quality improvement initiatives in the Structural Heart Program.• Offer consultation and education to all staff, patients, and families.• Coordination of complex discharge and follow-up planning needs.• Working collaboratively in a patient-centered environment.• The PA may need to see patients at other BCH satellite clinic locations (Waltham)• Applicants interested in participating in procedures will be required to meet Fluoroscopic Requirements for PAs in Massachusetts before being granted privilegesTo qualify, you must have:• A graduate degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.• A minimum of 1 year in either surgical/interventional, cardiac, or ICU experience.• Possess leadership, critical thinking skills and adaptability• Communication skills to work collaboratively with medical and procedural colleagues, staff and trainees.• A current license from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to practice as a Physician Assistant.
