ADI's Aerospace and Defense business has an open position for a Principal RF/Microwave Design Engineer who will design cutting-edge integrated modules and subsystems ranging from miniaturized multi-chip modules and SiPs to high power rack-based subsystems.
You will work in a collaborative team environment and interface with digital, software, and mechanical engineers, process engineers, program managers, and production personnel through all program phases from system concept development through design, prototype build and test, qualification, and production.
Successful candidate will be a technology leader in ADI's Integrated Solutions department driving development of complex high-integration multi-chip assemblies that leverage ADI's integrated circuits across the entire signal chain from antenna-to-bits.
Products cover a range of military, commercial, and satellite applications.
The position has a focus on hardware design and CAD modeling applicable to amplifiers, up/down converters, synthesizers, and high-speed data converters.
Interface with other company staff involved with IC design, manufacturing engineering, program managers, business development, sales, and division management throughout all program phases of research, design, and production.
The candidate will contribute in the following areas: Work with a team of engineers on EW, radar sensor, and communications related programs from concept development through top level integration, test, and debug Design and evaluate complex multi-chip designs and architectures from DC to 40GHz+ Identify viable architectures, complete system and chip-level design trades including frequency planning, spur analysis, phase noise, gain, IP2/IP3, and noise figure performance (among other key metrics) Verify and validate design to ensure compliance to customer specifications and expectations Prepare proposal documents, including technical, cost and schedule estimates Execute technology roadmaps and benchmark plans through release of products Desired Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and 12+ years' experience in RF/Microwave or electronics design.
RF/Microwave design experience including chain analysis, circuit/system modeling, and product integration & test Demonstrated ability to communicate with peers, managers, and project stakeholders effectively using both verbal and written communications Experience utilizing RF/Microwave design tools including Microwave Office (MWO/VSS) or Advanced Design System (ADS + GENESYS) Problem solving: quickly assess situations, collect relevant information from subject matter experts and drive manageable solutions Planning and organization: set and manage priorities, adapt to change, drive progress of activities, issues, risks and deliverables to closure Act decisively and make clear, timely decisions in the best interests of the project Creativity and innovation: explore new options to bridge project challenges or improve processes, identify and address challenges across functional boundaries Leadership skills and experience directing and mentoring engineers on complex programs High speed data converter (DAC, ADC, and transceiver) experience is a plus US Citizen only with ability to obtain government security clearance
