The Pharmaceutical Diagnostics division of GE HealthCare is searching for a dynamic Senior Counsel to join its legal team.
You will provide legal support, strategic legal and compliance advice, guidance, and counsel on issues involving the research, development, and commercialization of pharmaceutical diagnostics, including companion diagnostics, in the United States and Canada.
The Senior Counsel will be a member of the Pharmaceutical Diagnostics Legal function, reporting to the Pharmaceutical Diagnostics Managing Counsel for the United States and Canada.

Job Description Roles and Responsibilities: Support research, development, marketing, promotion, and commercialization of pharmaceutical diagnostics, including companion diagnostics, as the senior counsel for the region.
Apply combined business and legal judgment to proposed deals, relationships, and other issues requiring legal or compliance attention.
Advise the business on advertising/promotional, commercial, compliance, regulatory, privacy, antitrust and other matters.
Support business development activities focusing on agreements for co-development, co-promotion, and/or licensing projects.
Draft, review, and negotiate strategic business agreements and transactions.
Structure, draft, and negotiate commercial contracts, license, sourcing, and other agreements.
Provide legal and compliance advice and training, in close collaboration with the compliance team.
Ensure consistent application of local commercial and compliance policies and procedures throughout the Pharmaceutical Diagnostics business via sound partnering with the business.
Support the management of disputes, litigation, and similar matters involving Pharmaceutical Diagnostics products.
Collaborate with regional legal and compliance colleagues and subject matters experts to analyze and advise the business on complex legal/compliance issues that arise out of Pharmaceutical Diagnostics operations.
Manage outside counsel.
Coordinate with Pharmaceutical Diagnostics General Counsel and regional counsels as needed, on global projects.
Required Qualifications: JD and bar admission.
At least 7 years of relevant law experience at a large law firm or corporate legal department.
Previous exposure and relevant experience in the Pharma/Life Sciences/Healthcare sector with ability, experience, confidence and influencing skills needed to advise the business at the leadership level.
Experience with US healthcare/pharma industry statutes and regulations including the food drug and cosmetic act, the anti-kickback statute and the false claims act.
Demonstrated experience providing legal advice in a highly regulated environment.
Desired Characteristics: Previous experience in identifying and resolving legal issues quickly and effectively.
Ability to make on the spot risk calls.
Previous experience prioritizing conflicting demands from multiple business clients in a fast-paced environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills (English).
Excellent professionalism and interpersonal skills, with sound judgement and commitment to ethical conduct.
Business acumen and ability to provide legal advice as part of cross-functional teams.
