Surgical Technologist / 40 hours (4 10's) / NWH OR - (3296982)
The Surgical Technologist is an important member of the Surgery team responsible for providing intraoperative care to the surgical patient, and functions under the direct supervision of the RN. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Preparing for cases according to the surgeon's preferences and needs of the patient;Passing instruments to the surgeon at the surgical field;Caring for instruments at the end of the surgical procedure, ensuring accuracy of counts;Assisting in maintaining privacy and confidentiality of the patient;Maintaining safety of the patient; andApplying the principles of asepsis at all times in order to maintain the integrity of the sterile field.This position may be required to rotate to other Surgical Services Departments.
EducationGraduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program required.
License and RegistrationSurgical Technologist certification required.
ExperiencePrevious OR experience preferred.
