Responsibilities Apply system engineering expertise to analyze design concept, component and system reliability, maintainability and availability to ensure system performance throughout the product life cycleWork closely with R&D and engineering teams for product development and system optimizationProvide innovative solutions for system performance and reliabilityPerform product and components FMEA, potential problem analysis, and root cause analysisDesign rigorous experiments (including accelerated testing) to verify product reliabilityCollaborate with project engineers to engage with external vendors to procure parts and hardwareEffectively document and communicate resultsCandidates with more experience will also be expected to provide technical leadership in the framework of small teams to execute programs.Be intellectually curious, open to feedback and committed to ongoing professional development Qualifications Bachelor (or higher) of Science (B.S.
in mechanical or aerospace engineering) and 5+ years work experience in system engineering with focus on system reliability and life cycle managementExcellent first principles knowledge in mechanical engineering, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer and electrical engineeringAbility to develop thermal fluids systemExperience in performing FMEA, risk analysis and root cause analysis and strong problem-solving skillsAbility to design experiments with hands-on skillsAbility to balance and prioritize multiple simultaneous projectsAbility to work independently and on small teamsEffective communication and document skillsPrior experience in electronics or a hardware industry is preferredU.S.
